Practitioner:
Vocal Coach & Drama Education
Linzie's role as a practitioner has taken her on her own learning journey, discovering and studying the effects of using drama as a tool for potential change. She is passionate about the learning that can happen through the performing arts and has seen first hand how effective theatre can be in outreach and community settings. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Drama and English Literature, followed by a PGCE in Performing Arts and is part way through a Master's of Arts in Creative Arts Education in 2021 at Exeter University.
Her ability to take on and mimic a character, both physically and vocally is something that influences Wishart's work as a practitioner and has formed the basis of many of her theatre and education workshops. Linzie inspires other actors to utilise their voice to it's full potential by sharing the techniques she has learned over the years. She is especially skilled in installing confidence in those performers who feel intimidated when faced with singing. Linzie offers private vocal coaching as well as bespoke workshops and is currently the vocal coach for Marjon University Performing Arts students.
Recently, Linzie has taught on a range of subjects and modules at Marjon, including Music and Interdisciplinary Practice, The Vocal Anatomy, Harnessing Voice Types/Character and performance coaching.
Utilising her 22 years of experience onstage and her work with Marjon students during lockdown, Linzie developed VoiceFit - a series of exercises for the voice which can be used by any vocalist and is based on recent research on vocal anatomy. VoiceFit can be used as daily/regular practice to strengthen, rehabilitate and as warm up.
